City of Adrian Recycling Center Reopens Today Following Partner Staffing Resolution, Resuming 24/7 Services

3/31/2025

Adrian, MO – March 31, 2025 – The City of Adrian is pleased to announce the resumption of recycling services at the City of Adrian Recycling Center, following a temporary disruption. The interruption in service was due to staffing challenges experienced by the City's recycling processing partner, which have now been resolved.

The City of Adrian Recycling Center, located at 300 S. McCulloh Street, Adrian, MO, will resume its 24/7 operating hours starting today. Adrian residents are once again encouraged to bring their recyclable materials at any time to contribute to the city’s ongoing sustainability efforts.

"We understand that the temporary disruption to our recycling services caused inconvenience to our residents, and we appreciate their patience," said Ryan Wescoat, City Administrator. "The staffing issues were with our partner who handles the processing of the collected material. We have been in close contact with them, and they have assured us that the staffing levels are now sufficient to handle the recycling flow from Adrian. We are happy that this issue has been resolved. We are also happy to be able to offer 24/7 service again to the citizens of Adrian."

This situation highlights the city's reliance on external partnerships for essential services, and the city will continue to monitor the services provided by these partners.

The trailers located at the recycling center clearly display the types of recyclable materials accepted.

"We are very glad to be able to provide this service to our citizens again, and especially to be able to allow them to drop off their recyclable items at any time." added Ryan Wescoat, City Administrator. "We encourage everyone to participate in the recycling program."
